ARTIST STATEMENT

I have a passion for the wild, untamed places in this world and like to seek out backcountry areas in national & state parks and wilderness areas to capture images of the unspoiled grandeur of creation.

Sharing these images is important to me as a way to increase awareness of the need to protect our natural resources. In the U.S. we are so blessed by the abundance and diversity of natural beauty. The creation of our parks system and wilderness areas was a stroke of genius by our forefathers. These areas need to be protected for the health of wildlife, natural ecosystems, and for our own need to connect with nature and recharge ourselves.

My wanderings to countries bordering the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas have given me an appreciation of architecture, cultures, and  ways of life so different from life at home in the U.S. I have come away from these places with a rich collection of photographs that I hope you will enjoy.
